Wintersleep - Welcome To The Night Sky

... granted I haven't heard a good number of these albums, but I have a feeling that the jury tends to skew more towards albums that people like me (who like poppier stuff) aren't really into...

My favourites (meaning the albums I most enjoyed, not who I think will be selected by the jury) from the list are two posts down...

I'm assuming you've included The Con for my benefit, for which I thank you.

Also, I'd be surprised if Challengers wasn't shortlisted, but I'm pretty down on the Polaris process, so who knows...

Some great choices Rob. I am glad to see you included the Acorn and Sandro Perri. Both of those would be worthy recipients. I still think Basia will be the one to beat though. I might just have to try a pre-short list myself.

Well done.

I have no idea what the jury will choose. From looking at it I think I can make a few guesses.

Here's are my picks:

The Acorn - Glory Hope Mountain
Black Mountain: Into The Future
Cadence Weapon - Afterparty Babies
Crystal Castles - S/T
Destroyer - Trouble in Dreams
Holy Fuck - LP
Plants and Animals - Parc Avenue (even if I dislike it)
The Weakerthans - Reunion Tour

+2 albums I probably didn't listen to.

I'm sure you'll post about this, but you got 3 out of 10 right...which is at least two better than I would've done (Holy Fuck! was the only lock that I knew of).

I'm simultaneously disappointed and not at all surprised. No love for the new Pornos and T&S, which is extra-irritating given that the utterly ordinary Stars album made it through. So it goes.

You must be happy for Bulat, an album, IIRC, you were quite fond of when it came out.
