Ding, Dong... SMitch is ... gone...

My buddy Andrew just sent me an MSN message saying something like: "Today is the best day of my life...". I might not be willing to go that far, but today has been an excellent day that got about 100 times better after SMitch got the boot.

And, if things for the Raps don't get better in the short term, at least this sends a message to CB4 that they are serious about keeping him in 2010. My prediction, the Raptors still lose their next three (Utah, Portland, Cleveland) and then start becoming the team that we thought they'd be. I'm thinking that its probably not too long before Avery Johnson, Jeff Van Gundy and Eddie Jordan get a call from BC.

The R.O.B. would like to thank firesammitchell ... DOT COM, for its tireless effort in exposing Sam Mitchell's utter stupidity.

You don't think they should hire someone who's won? I thought you had to learn how to win!

Mr. (or Mrs.) thanks for the heads up... I can't decide though if post Jersey Girl Kevin Smith is going to be worth shelling out 60 bucks for... what do you think?

Hmm would you be against the Raps going after Starbury?

We need a backup PG.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'm happy to see Sam go, but there is still nowhere near the talent level needed to be the team any optimist wants them to become.

They tried that garbage idea of shortening the bench, but didn't bring in any talent. I would honestly say 3 or 4 people shouldn't even be in the NBA. They can't guard anyone on the perimeter and need 40 from Bosh to keep it close.

Allan: if the Raptors sign Marbury, which they won't because BC has done too much to turn the franchise around in terms of moral, I will officially become a Trail Blazers fan (they're young, exciting, and Brandon Roy seems like a good guy).

Ack: Maybe I'm over estimating, but I'd say that the Raps now, are probably as good as Phoenix (with Nash in his prime) ever was. They won't win a championship, but I think they're capable of being an excellent offensive team... I think they need Bosh to become a good defender along with someone to play D at the 2/3

Who shouldn't be in the NBA? Other than Moon (who lord knows how he was starting), I can't say that I can think of anyone else.

As good as the Suns? Really? Don't forget, the Suns were close to winning a championship, and people at least thought they could.

I would think that Amare, Marion, Nash is a better trio than the Raps can put out, and even when the Suns were going 7 deep with Diaw and The Brazilian Blur, they had talent to go seven deep.

The only thing I can see that is similar, is that on any given night if the threes are falling, you are in for a long night. Both can fill it up, although I hesitate to even give the Raps that much credit.

The Raps - especially now - need 40 and 14 from Bosh to even compete. The whole going to Europe is not really working for them. AP is nice enough - certainly played well, but he's getting up there. But should Solomon, Ukic or Jawai be in the NBA?

Well, I think if we can agree that Jose is about as good as Nash - although Nash put up bigger numbers I think Calderon is more efficient.

Bosh at this point is at least as good as Amare was a couple of years ago, and O'Neal, Kapono, Bargnani I think are at least as good as the bench was...

that said, I agree they're definitely a quality defender (Raja Bell) away from being a serious team...
